On the way home

Well, this has been a very quick 8 days of travel and worth every penny I have spent! The last 3 days in Athens were just right with the first day spent shopping and relaxing on the beach, swimming in the ocean and working on my tan. The second day we visited the famed attraction of the acropolis which was nice but there were many tour groups and because it was closed the day before the line up took us nearly 2 hours to get through just to get inside, and then to see the entire thing was about 30 minutes.. and my camera died halfway through but I did manage to get a few photos in before, just not one of us in front of the acropolis. We also visited the museum which was very informative and very neat to see all of the carvings and artifacts up close. Our final day we visited the famous city of Delphi. The bus took almost 3 hours to get there but gave us just the right amount of time to see Zeus's oracle - the temple of Apollo and all other pieces of the ancient area. The views of the mountains were also magnificent and those alone would have made me happy that we went there. We finished off our trip with a walk in central Athens and a delicious and filling meal facing the Acropolis. This morning it was up at 2:45am to catch a taxi at 3am in order to be at the airport early enough to check in for our 6am flight.. which is delayed .. and the journey home has almost began! Even though we are not sitting together on the long flight.. I suppose we will just sit and watch movies on the plane anyhow.

I'm not sure I'm ready to go back to cold weather but I hear summer is peeking around the corner in Edmonton and I am looking forward to getting back on my bicycle after a long winter of it being put away, and to continuing the last lag of my education. It will be full force once I return with school and work and getting back to healthy habits and I have a fun and full summer ahead of me.

Until the next adventure..
