I woke up this morning feeling renewed. Even after staying in bed 30 minutes after I initially woke up I told myself that there is no reason to feel guilty for sleeping in on my day off. Today, on the road to self improvement, I focused on my health. I started by taking a multivitamin and a shot of apple cider vinegar (specifically "with the mother" see below):
I had originally planned on waking up and immediately going for a nice long bike ride, but decided that I would do a meal plan first so I planned out my meals for a week and looked at Canada's food guide to try and make sure that I was getting the right amount of fruit's and vegetables etc per day. My goal is to make freezer meals and pre-package healthy snacks for days I am busy working, but at least I have the planning down so far.
As the day comes to an end I am taking care of my mental health. I realize that I can become addicted to televisions shows, especially while sitting home alone. I must admit that I have watched a few episodes of my latest addiction, that good ol' 90's show ER. I figure, there are worst things to be addicted to. Oh.. and peanut butter. I have to have my peanut butter. Bottom line, even though my goal was to be healthy today I think despite having 2 cups of coffee and ice cream (just a small amount I promise), and watching a few episodes of TV show I enjoy, I accomplished that goal. Plus, I'm now drinking some healthy tea, and there's nothing better for all areas of health than tea.
I was told that a shot of this stuff a day can do wonders for many different reasons. Somebody I talked to that was doing it had noticed a grand improvement on her skin, hair, and immune system. Here's to no colds! I must warn you though, if you're trying this you definitely need a chaser! I chose coffee which maybe wasn't the best option, perhaps next time I'll go for juice or a smoothie. Also, now that I've read a little bit about it I think it wouldn't hurt to mix it in water for a less rancid taste... and it might be better not to have it every day. But hey, I finally tried it, even though I bought it months ago!

After a few hours spent relaxing while drinking coffee and eating breakfast (yes I don't normally drink coffee but some days I feel like having a cup and hey, one cup a day has been shown to actually be good for you!) I did finally go on that bike ride. 15 km later and a stop for a coffee while out-waiting the unexpected rain, and I felt good I got out and going.
Of course, after getting home I went grocery shopping so that I can complete those meal plans similar to the image above and now I'm feeling pretty good about my day.
